St. Martin's Credit Union has a full-time, professional staff who manage the daily operations of the institution.

The Staff manage the Credit Union in compliance with the terms and conditions of service established by the Central Bank of Belize and the SMCU By-Laws.

Oversight is also provided by elected members who offer their expertise in finance, management and education on a voluntary basis.

These elected members serve the credit union in three committees (Board of Directors, Credit, Supervisory) that together form the Joint Officers.

Board of Directors

 The Board of Directors are those elected members who plan the strategic goals of the institution and provide guidance in its policies.

The following five members were elected at the 62nd Annual General Meeting on May 28, 2011 and will lead the credit union for the next three (3) years:

 Dr. John Morris - President

Mr. Rene Torres - Vice President

Mrs. Debbie Martinez - Treasurer

Mr. Carlton McKoy- Secretary

Mr. Emil Rodriguez - Education Director

 

Credit Committee

This is the body that is responsible for the approval of all loans. The Credit Committee is guided by a Credit Policy that sets out the conditions for obtaining and repaying loans at SMCU. All three members are elected at the Credit Union's Annual General Meeting.

Supervisory Committee

This is a body whose primary function is to ensure accountabilty and encourage best practices at the Credit Union. The three members are elected at the Annual General Meeting and serve a one-year term.
